Mr. Dennis Marzolf
Dennis Marzolf has been at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota, since the fall of 1984. He directs the Concert Choir, is the music director for Bethany Choraliers (Winter Musical), and teaches courses in hymnody and liturgics, and choral conducting. He has been a chapel organist, and has directed the Mary Martha Singers, Handbell Choir, and taught music history, music skills, and voice lessons.
He has served as a high school choral clinician and adjudicator, and has been a director at high school Choral Fests of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, and a High School Honors Choir at the WELS triennial National Conference on Worship, Music and the Arts. For fifteen years, he conducted the Minnesota Valley Chorale, a regional auditioned ensemble in Mankato. He directed the choirs at Mt. Olive Lutheran School (Children’s Choir, Boys’ Choir) for a number of years.
He was the founding director of the annual Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS) Summer Honor Choir at Bethany Lutheran College, and directed that group beginning in June 1986.
He is an editorial associate for LOGIA: A Journal of Lutheran Theology. Articles he has written have been published in that journal as well as in Reformation and Revival Journal. A number of essays were published in “Lutheran Service Book: Companion to the Hymns.”
A pastor in the ELS since October 1985, he served on the Worship Committee of the synod for many years. In 1996, the Committee produced the Evangelical Lutheran Hymnary which was published by MorningStar Music in St. Louis.
He holds the master of music degree from MInnesota State University, Mankato, master of divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, and bachelor of music from St. Olaf College.

Mr. Eric Harstad
Dr. Eric Harstad discovered his love of choral music as a student at Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He earned an associate in arts degree from Bethany Lutheran College, a bachelor of music degree from Saint Olaf College, and a master of music degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He earned his doctorate in choral conducting at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Eric has sung with the Saint Olaf Choir and the Dale Warland Singers. He has also sung with, and been the assistant director of, Magnum Chorum and Exultate. He has taught and conducted choirs at Minnesota State University, Mankato, Mankato Public Schools, McLeod West Public Schools, Buffalo Lake-Hector Public Schools, Hutchinson High School, and Hangzhou Normal University, Hangzhou, China. For the past ten years, he has directed the Minnesota Valley Chorale in Mankato, Minnesota. Eric currently teaches vocal music, guitar, and elementary music at the Madelia Public Schools.
