2022 Festival Clinicians

  • Mr. Levi Nagel

Mr. Levi Nagel is a native of Milwaukee and a 1999 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran High School, where he participated in choirs, Wisco Kids and Inspiration. He did his undergraduate work at Wisconsin Lutheran College and received the Masters of Church Music degree from Concordia University Wisconsin. In 2005, Levi was called into the public ministry by Grace Lutheran Church in Falls Church, Virginia, where he served as Staff Minister of Worship and Youth for almost 11 years. During that time, he attended Martin Luther College to become a certified staff minister. Throughout his years living in the Washington, D.C. area, Levi sang as a professional chorister with several choirs, most notably the Washington Master Chorale.

Since 2016, Levi has been serving as Minister of Music and Worship at St. John's Lutheran Church in Milwaukee where he directs the choir and handbell group, serves as head organist, and oversees the music and worship programming of the church. He also directs the Lutheran Chorale of Milwaukee, a large choir of singers from WELS churches in the Milwaukee area and beyond. Since moving back to Milwaukee, Levi has been blessed to serve the synod in other ways, such as serving on the hymnal committee, helping out with music recording projects, and serving as a speaker at events such as worship conferences and Mission and Ministry at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, among other events.

Outside of his service to the Church, Levi enjoys the company of friends and family, traveling (specifically to European cities), food, and cheering on the Brewers.

She was pleased to recently complete her WELS Ministry Certification.

Kate has enjoyed a comprehensive music teaching career working with students of all ages, preschool through collegiate, in public and parochial schools. In addition to her work in music education, Kate has served for the past 10 years as a worship coordinator in Lutheran parishes.
